McDonald's Insults Starbucks

McDonald's is taking jabs at Starbucks by posing insulting billboards. The billboards are erected close to the gourmet coffee giant's cafes and headquarters in Seattle. Billboard slogans include: "Four bucks is dumb" and "Large is the new grande".

"The billboard placement was done because they picked high visible locations," said a McDonalds owner named Alan Finkelstein. He said they "wanted to point out that ordering an espresso at McDonald's is quick and simple."

About 140 billboards insulting Starbucks have gone up in Washington State. Terry Davenport from Starbucks said they don't want to get sucked into the 'my coffee is better' conversation and plan to "play at a much higher level".

If it's legal to do that then they definitely are going to do everything to get ahead. That's just the way it goes in business.

That's good marketing mix by McD..
Both McD and starbucks are given good oportunity to advertise themselves..and increase the amount of selling.. That's good ^^

It is not great that you can insult other brand to show other people your brand. I think you should send both to people let people decide what they think is best.

well that is right it is business but either they should insult any other one if they do then people should not call it an insult and other brands have rights to insult McDonald in this way.
